The first time Center of Network Therapy opened in Middlesex and asked referrals for Ambulatory Detox service, not everyone welcomed the idea. But in past two years, Ambulatory Detox Model has picked up, service has become popular and some of the patients themselves are calling to get an idea about the program said Marlyse Benson, Senior Director of Behavioural  Health  and Psychiatry at Trinitas.

Ambulatory Detox program aligns with patients schedule and daily routine permitting them to attend a four-hour session. At Recovery CNT, clients are surrounded by a comfortable and relaxing atmosphere with Theater-Style Seating, access to personal cell phones and Wi-Fi. CNT also provides gourmet meals snacks and beverages. Clients can return home at night with their families according to CNT Medical Director, Indra Cidambi.  Family and closed ones play an important role during the recovery process.Dr. Cidambi is happy that  new centers with similar facilities opening in the state with good response as it is a welcome sign. Patients at CNT come from 60 miles away to the center for treatment.
Sending away someone for treatment has its own advantages and disadvantages as told by Dr. Cidambi. It is important to note that clients have to adjust to the normal surroundings and they have to reintegrate into the community.Ambulatory Detox program is especially helpful for the young patients who normally would want to hide their addiction from parents in the fear of being sent away from their home, family, friends etc.
Detox Model that is introduced by CNT can be used by all ages but it’s important and taken into consideration  to who would qualify for ambulatory model  vs outpatient or inpatient program.

As patients come from 60 miles away, CNT staff is well equipped to handle all the referrals. The Center has atleast 600 patients since it opened in 2013 and has 20 employees presently.   CNT staff nurses work on per diem basis and work on part time basis and can picks up shift as per their suitability.

A very important factor in terms of success of Ambulatory Detox Model is insurance. At nearly half the expenses of inpatient detoxification, it is not at all difficult to get the reimbursement, says Dr. Indra Cidambi.

The idea of Ambulatory Detox Model came up when Dr. Indra Cidambi who has spent her career in serving addiction patients and over a period of time, she learnt that it was a “revolving door pattern” and half of the patients didn’t need an inpatient treatment. But convincing the medical fraternity, to send patients to the center for not at all an easy task. But  as we kept going, we have been successfully able to detox 600 patients  as of now those who have stayed sober for 90 days after detox.

Ambulatory Detox is a future model but that doesn’t mean inpatient will not be needed at all and is in danger., but many hospitals do have outpatient program.

Seven days a week, Center for Network Therapy, a Medically Monitored Ambulatory Detox center has it’s location in Middle Sex, New Jersey. Services include detoxification from alcohol, benzodiazepines, opiates, stimulants, anesthetics and other substances.

CNT is in network with Amerihealth,Aetna, Horizon Blue Cross ,Cigna, Blue Shield, QualCare, United Healthcare Oxford, and Value Options.

CNT also accepts private health insurance with out-of-network benefits and self-pay.
